News, Updates and Stuff (Happy Cool Date Day!)
Think Pink Auctions are Up!
I've listed three auctions - one is for a collection of 28 beads (4 mini-sets), and the two others are focals from my 'Barbie Bling' series. 50% of the sale prices will be donated to the International Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Venice of Wind and Fire
That's the official name of the exhibit at the Museum of Italian Jewish Art in Jerusalem, where a bunch of my beads will be hanging out for a couple of months. The exhibit starts August 12th and goes on till October 24th, and I still can't find any info in English about it to link to. Hebrew info here.
I should probably be more excited about this, but I have never heard of this museum... my beads making their first appearance at a place where pasta-cooking workshops for kids are going on at the same time is a bit of a weird concept... and the flier, as you will see in a second, looks painfully lame. Still, I've heard it's in a beautiful old building, and I've seen some of the other work that will be on display and there is some really nice stuff. And, well, pasta... pasta is good. Right? Who doesn't like pasta?
I'm not going to have much spare time this week, but I will try to make it to the opening on Tuesday.

A couple of other honorable mentions I keep forgetting to mention:
One of my bead sets is in the latest Bead Review (#3). I haven't received my copy yet, but I had the chance to leaf through someone else's in Australia. I must say - this is a great publication (I had never seen it in person before). A lot of the work in there is really beautiful and unique (and I am not easily impressed), and I'd highly recommend checking it out. That said, I am a tad disappointed with the fact that my picture came out way too dark. Oh well.
There's an interview with me in the latest issue of Vorsicht! Glas! magazine. I haven't received my copy of that yet either (what is up with the mail lately?), so I haven't seen it - and when I do, I won't be able to read it anyway, because I don't speak German - so here's hoping it says good things.
It's 08/08/08, and Russ bought his first computer today! Woohoo!

Do they have any Modigliani paintings in their collection? He was a cool Jewish Italian painter, IMHO.
You are really tearing it up these days with the gallery/museum exhibits, feature articles and classes, not to mention beautiful, beautiful beads. So glad to see all thsee great things come your way from your hard work and creative inspiration. Keep on keepin' on. You're an inspiration to us all!

Enjoy your trip to the UK!

Hi Sarah,
I made a mistake. If you click on your link to Hebrew Info here and go to that website on the bottom of the page there is a link to Yaniv Glass Gallery, then you click on English to get the website to come up in English. Sorry I made a mistake in my first comment.

Hi Sarah,
I have the latest issue of Vorsicht Glas in front of me and I can assure you that it only says good things about you. I love your beads and so I really was happy to read about you in the issue of Vorsicht Glas as it is one of the few german magazines for glassbeadmakers.
