Greetings from Belgium
Hi guys, I'm in Belgium and for the life of me, I can't remember the name of the village I'm in. It is very beautiful here though. Calm, quiet, and very different from home.
Surprisingly enough, I got through all four workshops in Holland (many pics on Flickr). It was fun! I always dread the classes the night before, but once they get started, I really do enjoy myself. I've met lots of interesting people, heard lots of interesting stories and melted lots of glass. The Dutch have been lovely. It's interesting how each group is a completely different experience.
I had a great time in Leende, and I'd like to thank Miriam and Eric again for their generous hospitality. Things could not have gone better.
Now I'm at my B&B in *someone please remind me what this place is called*, and chapter #2 (or is it #3? or #17? I think I lost count) of my trip is starting this week. Today is my "day off", and I'm trying to decide if I should spend the rest of the day in Brussels or in Gent - but I must admit, the option of just staying here at the B&B for the rest of the day is sounding quite tempting. It's so rural out here. There are two windows in my room, and when I look out one I can see cows, and right outside the other there are horses. Cows and horses, I swear. I find this endlessly amusing.
It is nice to have the day off, because starting tomorrow I am teaching 4 workshops in a row... ending with the Halloween bash at Quinton and Griet's. By the way, if you happen to be in the area and you're in a spontaneous state of mind - there are still a couple of spaces left in my Color Reactions class tomorrow. It's a fun workshop! You should come! All the other workshops are filled up (one is even overflowing).
Anyway. You didn't think we were going to have an entire post with no pictures, right? Yesterday Miriam and Eric took me to Brussels. Out of all the European cities I've visited, I must say - Brussels is definitely the weirdest. Seriously. Brussels is weird. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves... pleeeeease visit my Flickr page for more. Have a great day, wherever you are! I know I will.
Brussels
Russian street musicians. The red and yellow instrument is a balalaika (sp?)
This little guy is an important Belgian monument. I am not sure why.
The "statue" on the left is a real guy.
Sort of a puppet show
If you stroke the bronze lady she is supposed to grant you one wish. I did not try. Couldn't think of anything else to wish for.

Hi Sarah.
Brussells looks seriously weird, but what an experience travelling to all these great countries. Wish I was just down the road, and I would be filling one of the chairs in your colour reaction class. So hope it all goes well, one of my forum buddies has come all the way from England to lampwork with you, any thoughts about coming to Turkey??? Or even England, might be able to make there next year??? Have a great time.
Tammy.
