Organizing and De-cluttering

Last night, I got the urge to clear all the crap off of my desk - an extremely rare event that occurs once every 726 years or so. Once I got started, a strange kind of energy kicked in and I just couldn't stop - so, after filling 4 huge garbage bags with utter junk (why don't I ever just throw things away?) I proceeded to other clutter dumping grounds around the house. I am so proud of myself. My desk hardly has anything on it now - besides a computer, a printer and some other stuff I might actually need to use in the next few days - and you can actually see the floor in here again! How amazing is that?

I even organized my glass! Well, some of it. Okay, a third of it or so. But still - that is quite an accomplishment. Now I feel like becoming one of those people who have all their colors organized in neat little tubes on neat little shelves. But who am I kidding? I know that would never last. In the meantime, here is some color porn for you... I need documentation of this before I mess everything up again. Isn't glass beautiful?

What really kills me, is all the little metal and plastic parts. You know those oddly-shaped objects, the ones you find lying around looking like they might be important but you have no idea what the hell they are, why they are on your desk or what they used to belong to? In the back of your mind you know that you should just throw them all away, because if you haven't found a need for them by now, you probably never will. But you just can't bring yourself to do it. You are too scared that a week later, you will suddenly discover that they were really important parts of your computer or that your TV won't work without one of them, and you'll be running around, pulling your hair out and screaming "WHY did I throw that away?! Where am I going to get another metal angle-shaped thingie with four holes in it NOW?!" Argh. Does everyone have these, or is it just me?

Anyway. Since I am so wonderfully organized right now, it is time to make even more space and get rid of some beads that have been lying around. I'm having two clearance auctions this week - one is another group of homeless focals and the other is a bunch of orphans. You can click the photos to visit the auctions.

Have a great week!
