Wanna watch me make a bead?

I was playing around with my camera today, and I made a little "movie" of myself making a focal bead.

Video isn't really my thing, so the lighting is kinda crappy, the angles are not the best and the editing is pretty much non-existent... if I ever do this again, I promise to put more of an effort into figuring all that stuff out. In the meantime, hope you enjoy it anyway. In any case - this is just for fun - so please don't take it too seriously.

Oh, and the parts where my lips are moving - I'm singing along to the music (unaware of how weird it would look), not having a conversation with the bead. It is a "silent movie", so fortunately for you - you don't have to listen to me sing.

Okay, enough with the apologies. Just press the play button to start... enjoy!

Fantastic! It's a very intense sensual (as in sensory) looking art process. I've seen other videos of lampworking, but none as complete and detailed as this one; thanks Sarah for informing me!

Also I don't buy your story about singing along to music, I bet you really do sing to your beads!

Sarah your beads are hot.I enjoyed watching your vidio! Please make another!! I like that it was silent.May be the next should be in black and white as well. Being an old Dead Head I tryed to guess the songs, Ripple? Terapin Station? St Steven? Idonno The focus on the vidio I felt was to low. Your face was cut off and most of the action was in the upper left corner of the screen. So it was hard to read your lips.

Thanks so much Michael, that is a huge compliment coming from you!
And YES, one of the songs was Ripple (one of my faves) - I was listening to American Beauty.
I know the quality of the video sucks... it was sort of a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing. If I do another one I will figure out how to make it look better.

You have such great talent! Thank you for the look "inside". You make it look easy... but I'm sure it isn't. Actually, talking to the beads as you make them isn't a bad idea.....

    Hi Sarah,
I so want to see you make this bead, but no matter what I do I can't seem to get the video! What I do get is slice of a "video box" (the bottom part, where you can see that the video is playing because the little cursor is moving on play) but no picture. I tried your "if you're having problems" thing, too. Any ideas? I've never seen an artist do lampwork and since I now proudly own a Sarah Hornik bead, I'd love to see the process.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    thanks, julie
