Out with the paper, in with the glass!
Hi folks,
So, it's been a little over a week since the infamous article was published - it seriously feels like something that happened a year ago. I am feeling much calmer about it now. I think Kathrin said it well:
"They (journalists) hardly get the whole picture, our ego reduced to a newspaper article can only lead to frustration. You live and learn."
*sigh*
So true.
I guess the most important thing to remember, is that glass lasts forever... or almost, but paper doesn't even come close.
I got lots and lots of e-mails, most of which were wonderful - a few were obnoxious, but to make up for that, I also got some e-mails from some old friends whom I hadn't spoken to in ages. That was fun. I am still getting tons of e-mails, and I'm trying to reply to all of them - so if you wrote to me this week and haven't received a response yet, just hang in there - I'm getting to it!
And now, could we please go back to talking about glass?
Thank you.
I got a couple of #00 size frits from Val Cox this week - #00 means the frit (crushed glass) is ground very very fine, something like grains of table salt. I am totally hooked on this stuff - I opened the first jar a few days ago, and haven't made a single bead without it since! Well, almost. There is so much you can do with it - I just love the speckled look on opaque colors, not to mention the way it reacts with silver. So, here are some of my speckled offerings on eBay this week:

That's all for today. Have a great week!
