Miss Popularity
Hello hello from ridiculously sunny Tel Aviv!
I feel like "Miss Popularity" this week... 2 magazines arrived in the mail, with pictures of my beads in them!

The Annealer Magazine

2 photos of my beads in an article called "The Joys of a Hot Head Torch". Yay Hot Head, and yay for The Annealer! This is the premier issue, and it is always good to see new lampworking magazines!

Craft Magazine

This actually came out in October (another premier issue!), but I just received my copy this week. See my Pac-Man beads in the bottom right corner? These are really ancient... well, even the beads I made last month look ancient to me... so, ummm, yeah. It even says in the caption that I am a web designer! That's how old the beads are. But I love them anyway - I kept these for myself, couldn't bear to part with them. I ahve been getting numerous requests to make more Pac-Men... so, we'll see.
This is a very cool publication, by the way - highly recommended if you are into handmade stuff!

Back to Bollywood

Due to popular request, I made a new batch of Bollywood focals! Four of them are up for auction on eBay.
I am feeling a little "Bollywooded-out" at this point... so these will probably be the last, at least for now. Or not. Who knows. It's hard to tell with Bollywood.

Inspiration
A couple of nights ago, I was browsing around on Flickr, when I stumbled across this guy's photostream. His name is Darwin Dillon, and he is a rock collecter from Texas. You MUST take a look at his rocks! They have some of the most beautiful colors and patterns I have ever seen. I especially like this one. And this one. And this one! The artwork of mother nature is QUITE humbling.
So, it was 4 o'clock in the morning, and I was seriously contemplating selling all my glass and equipment and setting out to travel the world and become a rock collector. But, when I woke up the next day, I remembered how much I love my glass and how much I hate hiking and sleeping outside, and that I really don't know anything about rocks or how to find them. So I think I'll keep up the lampworking for a while. I might have to purchase a nice hunk of rock on eBay every now and then, though. That "Crazy Lace" stuff is just... mesmerizing. I want some!

An update on the Paypal / Accentcard issue
In case you were wondering (and a big THANKS again, for all your concern - I was really touched!), Accentcard is now issuing a new card called Accentcard Visa. I haven't received my card yet, so things are a little tight right now... but it looks like everything is going to work out, hopefully in the very near future. *sigh of relief*
I still hope I can visit the US sometime soon.

That's all for today.
I've heard rumors it's quite cold in other parts of the world - so keep warm!
See ya soon.

Obviously, the only solution to falling in love with rocks, since you can't jus give up the glass thing, is to create beads that LOOK like the rocks you've fallen in love with!
