Fresh Air
Big news: yesterday I FINALLY got proper ventilation set up in my workspace! I have been putting this off for way too long (hi, I'm the world's biggest procrastinator). Check it out:

It looks a little like something from outer space.
Isn't it beautiful?
I owe a huge thanks to Amnon - lampwork teacher, friend and one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met - who made the cone-shaped hood thingie for me and came all the way from Jerusalem to put it all together. And also to my wonderful friends, Indi and Oren, who convinced me that the whole ventilation thing was not such a big deal like I was making of it, and took me to buy all the other stuff. Sometimes I just need to be dragged away from the torch and out of the house, or else I never get anything done. Seriously.
The really cool thing about this - well, besides the not-slowly-killing-myself-by-breathing-toxic-fumes-any-more part - is that now I can safely try out some of the really toxic materials that I've been avoiding, such as enamel powders and metals (copper, silver, gold, etc.). Now the possibilities are even more endless! Ah, so much to melt, so little time. I can't wait.

And, some new auctions this week:
Andromeda's Dream

I am so proud of this set. Olympia Rain at it's finest, topped with bubbly seeded glass for extra sparkle.

Giselle

More of my usual style, this time on red copper green.

Spiraling (Out of Control)

I am really proud of these too. I made the spirals using a technique called "dot-bridge" - placing dots of hot glass on top of eachother to create a "bridge" between two beads. Actually, I think a better name for this technique would be "glob-bridge", in my case at least. But I love the results, I really do.
I named this set "Spiraling (Out of Control)" because - well, "spiraling" for obvious reasons, "out of control" because of the frit decoration. I'm usually not a frit person - I tell people it's because I'm a control freak - which I am, at least as far as glass is concerned. If there are going to be dots, I usually like to decide exactly where they are going to be. But these spiral-shaped beads were just calling out for raku frit, and I'm so glad I listened! The raku looks really cool in these, lots and lots of colors magically apperared when the beads came out of the kiln.

Waves and Wishes

More Olympia Rain goodness.

I am the proud owner of the black spirial set. I finally won something of Sarah's. I never thought I would get those!

Your work is outstanding! The colors truly knock me out. I found you through Flickr because Sharon Amir just added me as a contact and I see you are one of her contacts. I could spend days on Flickr - one thing leads to another. There are so many talented artists and so much amazing art to see!

I find passionate sentences like, "Ah, so much to melt, so little time. I can't wait" so inspiring! I love what I do with just as much passion, I just have to remind myself not to take on financial translations, EVER. Thanks.

Thanks!
Financial translations sound like a bummer.
