Proudly Introducing... Minibeads!

A couple of nights ago, I was roaming through eBay late at night when I stumbled across these miniature marbles by J. R. Hooper. They were just so cute, I had to have them - so I bought them. I should really stop roaming eBay late at night.

Then, I started thinking to myself...
(Can you guess?)

"Hey, if there can be miniature marbles, why not miniature beads? I wonder if I could make really small beads."

"You already do make really small beads."

"Yeah, I know, but I wonder if I could make... like... really REALLY small beads."

"You already do make really REALLY small beads."

"I mean... like... miniature beads."

"Yes, I know what you mean. You do know it's yourself you're talking to here, right?"

"Yeah, yeah, I know. So... could I?"

"Hey, if anyone could..."

So, the next morning, I was eager to give it a try. I pulled out the thinnest rods I have in all my favorite colors,  my 1/16" mandrels that I haven't used in a while, pulled some very thin stringer, even made some tiny twisties... and next thing I know, I am totally hooked, making really really small beads like there's no tomorrow... I wanted to try to stay true to my usual designs, with as much detail as possible, just on a much smaller scale.

Minibeads

Minibeads are quite hard to photograph. I had to take this shot a gazillion times.

They are so cool though. I love them.

I wanna make MORE!!!

Now, all that's left to do is to take these little guys for a test drive, to see how the kind folk over on eBay respond to this concept. I really hope they like them, because I really really want to make more!
